Protect heat-sensitive bodywork and components with the Blackbird 5073 Thermal Heat Shield Sticker. Manufactured with an aluminium-based reflective surface and a self-adhesive backing, this versatile heat shield can be applied to the reverse side of motorcycle panels, number boards, side panels and other suitable surfaces exposed to radiant heat from the exhaust system.

The 25 x 20 cm sheet can be cut to the required shape, making it suitable for both straightforward installations and more detailed panel contours. Once fitted, the aluminium surface helps reflect radiant heat away from the protected area, reducing heat transfer to nearby plastics, painted panels and other components.

The self-adhesive backing allows for a clean, secure installation without the need for additional glue or fasteners. For the best adhesion, the mounting surface should be clean, dry, smooth and free from oil, grease, dust or silicone-based products.

Installation Guidance

1. Check the intended fitting area and cut the sheet to the required size and shape.


2. Clean the mounting surface thoroughly, removing all dirt, oil, grease and adhesive residue.


3. Allow the surface to dry completely.


4. Peel away the backing paper without touching the adhesive more than necessary.


5. Position the heat shield carefully and press it firmly into place.


6. Work from the centre outwards to minimise air pockets and ensure good contact around the edges.


7. Allow the adhesive to bond before exposing the area to significant heat, moisture or washing.

Rounded corners are recommended when cutting the sheet, as sharp corners may be more likely to lift over time.

Important Information

This product is designed primarily to reduce radiant heat transfer to nearby panels and components. It should be fitted to a suitable supporting surface and should not be used as a replacement for exhaust wrap, mechanical heat guards or manufacturer-specified thermal protection.

Do not apply directly to an exhaust header, silencer or other surface that reaches extreme temperatures unless the application has been confirmed as suitable. Always maintain appropriate clearance between the heat shield, exhaust system and surrounding components. Inspect the installation periodically and replace the sheet if it becomes damaged, loose or contaminated.
